The Dead Weather's newest album Sea of Cowards. It came out a couple weeks ago, but I only got my first listen today while at work (am I supposed to be working right now? Maybe! DON'T TELL).
When asked to describe the kind of music I like (and, I have been asked just that before, Readers, which is always a super hard question to answer, so let's stop asking it, ok?) I always resist answering with a genre (because I like lots) and instead just say: heavy. I especially love my rock 'n' roll gritty and bluesy and bass-y and, you know, heavy. This is not so surprising, as my favorite band growing up was Led Zeppelin (I had a father very dedicated to teaching me the Important Things in Life, which, essentially, meant classic rock and classic black-and-white movies. I am eternally grateful for this education).
Also, this album reinforces why Jack White is in fact the very first person on my "Celebrities I would love to fuck" list (Jack! Call me!).
Rock out, kids.
