Quote of the Day

You guys, I HEART HER SO HARD.
"Lots of [the clothes I wear are] meant to be kind of a rejection of what people think about women. I guess I'm a feminist. I am a feminist. And I want to change the way people view women."
                                                 - Lady Gaga, in an interview with Larry King, transcript here.

Welcome to the club, Lady.

h/t Shakesville

p.s. I loooooove Lesley's take on subverting the male gaze in the Alejandro video here.

  1. I have nothing substantial to add to the Lady Gaga conversation since I don't follow her career, but, I do like this joke because I remember reading a quote by her saying she wasn't a feminists 'because she likes men.' I guess she has come a long way, and I am happy for her. :)

  2. I know, I love even that halting beginning in that quote . . . it's really nice to see that she then owns the word. I am super happy for her, too! :) And for all of us. She does some really good work on queering gender and pushing issues like no one else does (or has).
