The petition for rehearing en banc for Kiobel in the Second Circuit just got denied.

Shorter Chief Justice Jacobs, on denying the rehearing:

Corporations are too awesome to be held civilly liable for their actions.  Because they're important in society!  And they're awesome.  I love corporations so much, I pretty much conflate them with nations, and talk about comity.  I mean, come on people, we know who's REALLY important.  Seriously, corporations are awesome.  I am now going to incorrectly use the word "imperialism."  Now I am going to slip in here that I am pro-death penalty, in a sentence that is entirely out of place.  Corporations!  The end.
